Language - Dance

Dance is a language, and people can communicate through dance. They don’t need to say look at it to understand what the other person needs to say.
This project uses the font (dance) of different countries to create.  And combine different dance poses and languages of different countries.

Base on the 60  drawing responses and picked up three countries: China, Japan, and Russia. Then combine with three different dance performances: “Shan Wu Dann Qing,” “Four seasons of Kabuki,” and “The Nutcracker.”  To show them in the way of the stage designs.

3 Stages

Seasons of Kabuki

Kabuki is a dance form that originates in the mysterious land of Japan. A heady concoction of Dancing and Singing, Kabuki is starkly colorful because of its costumes and makeup techniques. Evolving from its earlier ribald and suggestive themes, the dance has seen many downfalls and was almost wiped out.

The project will present three different stages of Kabuki.  The first one is the traditional stage for the Kabuki. Second, it is the stage in autumn and combines with some famous places in Japan. The stage with the sakura is the last.

The Nutcracker

The ballet and the music by Tchaikovsky. The Nutcracker story is loosely based on the E.T.A. Hoffmann fantasy story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, about a girl who befriends a nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve and wages a battle against the evil Mouse King. Hoffmann's story is darker and more troubling than the version that reached the stage; the Imperial Russian Ballet choreographer Marius Petipa chose to follow a light adaptation of the story written by Alexandre Dumas père.

The project will present three different scenes in the story. The Magic Castle in the Land of Sweets, In Clara's room, and A Pine Forest in Winter.
